FASTer Way to Fat Loss: Regular Macro Day

Yesterday, I shared what a low carb day looks like on the FASTer Way to Fat Loss program. Today, I want to share what the other five days of eating look like for me. We track proteins, fats, and carbs and the program walks you through what your individual numbers should be. The beauty of the program is that it combines cutting edge scientific research to optimize fat burning AND get healthy. There’s accountability to help encourage you and stay on track. Plus, workouts go along with the different eating days.

Five days a week, I eat what we refer to as “regular macro” days. On these days, I eat LOTS of healthy carbs. Fruit is my favorite go-to carb, but I also love sweet potatoes and quinoa. Carbs has become a dirty word in the diet industry, but the truth is your body NEEDS carbs. It just needs healthy carbs. Over the course of the last year, I’ve eaten a very balanced diet and have brought in a lot of carbs and I lost weight, had energy, and felt amazing.

Just like low carb day, I wake up around 5:30/6 am and have coffee with my Nutpods, being careful to stay under 50 total calories. I break my fast around 11am with bell peppers, cucumbers, and carrots dipped in hummus and I enjoy some fruit, normally blueberries, apples, pears, or pineapple. You may notice this is really similar to how I break my fast on low carb day too. The difference is I take out the salami (high in fat) and I’m adding in the fruit. If we have leftover chicken or turkey, I’ll add some of it in too. I struggle to meet my protein goal so I try to get it in wherever I can.

We like to make a big tray for lunch and the whole family digs in.

Some people like to break their fast with a fruit smoothie or that would be a great snack option for midday too. Others like to break their fast with oatmeal and fruit. The beauty of it is there is a lot of freedom to customize your meals for what you enjoy. For a snack, I’ll have a RX protein bar or some fruit. Beef jerky is always a snack option for me too because it’s high in protein. I also like to have a kombucha. The gingerberry flavor made by Synergy brand is my favorite kombucha. It’s an acquired taste though! If you like soft drinks, this is a good way to get that carbonation and fizz in a healthy way.

There are tons of dinner options. You can brown ground beef and use an organic spaghetti sauce and serve over spaghetti squash (the kids get regular noodles…a way to cook for all of us and keep everyone happy). I love to have salmon cooked in olive oil with Everything But the Bagel seasoning and then have a sweet potato and broccoli. You can do chili. Here’s an awesome recipe for crockpot buffalo chicken served in a sweet potato. You can probably even work in a little sweet treat with some raspberries and dark chocolate.

The reality is you can make your meals as simple or adventurous as you want. It doesn’t have to be boring ole baked chicken and brussel sprouts (although that is yummy from time to time!). And you CAN enjoy eating lots of yummy carbs and lose weight. I’m proof of it and so are thousands of people that have gone through The FASTer Way.

Participants that go through the FASTer Way to Fat Loss program get a weekly meal plan so the work of meal planning can be done for you. But it’s not a necessity to follow the meal plan, you can do your own thing, if that works best. If this sounds like a good fit for you, I’d love to have you join me in my next round!
