Faster Way to Fat Loss- The End of the First Round

Six weeks ago, I started a program called Faster Way to Fat Loss. The gist of it is you eat real food. You count macros using My Fitness Pal (a free app). You eat more food than any other diet/food program you’ve ever been on. And you lose weight.

I went into it a little scared. Macros were a foreign concept to me (confession: numbers and I don’t get along). There were exercises involved and I hadn’t exercised regularly in over a year (note: you do not have to start out doing the exercise portion to see results). I’m breastfeeding and was a little worried about my milk supply diminishing (it didn’t). And to be honest, I wanted to change, but I didn’t want to change, ya know? I knew I needed to give up the cookies, cake, and ice cream, but I didn’t really want to.

I’ve done my fair share of programs in the past. Whole 30, 21 Day Sugar Detox, Beach Body, Weight Watchers…but this one is different. Six weeks in and I’m not bored. I don’t feel deprived. I’m seeing crazy results. My self confidence is slowly coming back.

Why is it different?

  1. You have different macro goals for different days. You get to eat a variety of foods. On Mondays and Tuesdays, I eat more fats and keep my carbs down (think almonds, avocados). But on Wed and Thurs, my carb goals increase so I can enjoy plenty of fruits, sweet potatoes.
  2. You eat real food so you just feel better. Also, honey and maple syrup are on plan and there are lots of healthy treats out there to satisfy a sweet tooth.
  3. Once a week, you have a treat! You don’t have to give up your favorite treat forever! You can have that donut or slice of pizza…but you just have it once a week and in moderation.
  4. You have support. You are in a FB group with your coach and other participants. Feeling that you aren’t alone is such a huge bonus!
  5. The exercises are doable. You aren’t expected to slave away in the gym. And you can do them at home!

The Results:

You are encouraged not to weigh yourself. Instead, you focus NSV (non scale victories). Here are a few of mine:

  1. I lost a total of 10.5 inches! That’s a lot of inches!
  2. I’ve gone down a pant size!
  3. My shirts are loose!
  4. I’ve gotten tons of comments on how my face is thinner!
  5. My engagement ring fits again!
  6. I can climb up my stairs without running out of breath!
  7. And the biggest of all…I have no desire to weigh myself!

WHAT??? I know so many of you hopped over here to see how much weight I lost. And I get it. Because before I began this program I was a bit obsessive about jumping on the scale when I’m making healthy changes. And I totally did a google search when I was starting this program that went something like this “how much weight did you lose on faster way to fat loss”.

As my six weeks was coming to an end, I debated on whether or not I wanted to weigh myself. Ultimately, I decided I didn’t want to. I know my body has made HUGE changes. I know this program works. And I know that the number on the scale isn’t a true reflection of what’s going on in my body. I’ve built muscle over these last six weeks. I’m healthier physically and mentally than I’ve been in a long time.

So, what’s next for me? Well, I jumped right into Round 2 with my amazing coach, Becca. You totally leave Round 1 with all of the info you need to keep going without joining Round 2. But I love the camaraderie of being in a group and the accountability it gives me. So Round 2 was a no-brainer for me!

My next round is coming up and it’s filling up FAST (click here to join that group)! Why? Because your body can make some amazing changes in six weeks. But more importantly, you will feel better and have more energy to chase your kids and/or grandkids around on those beautiful spring and summer days!
