How to Give Furniture A New Look

Have a piece of furniture that you like, but want a different look? We inherited a super cute kids’ bench and table from my husband’s grandparents. While the red was super fun, the paint was chipping and didn’t quite go with much in our home. I’m going to share how to give furniture a new look with spray paint!

Before Look
This is what the piece looked like before we spray painted it.

The Supplies and Process

The good news is all we needed was spray paint and painter’s tape to transform this piece. We used Rustoleum Painter’s Touch paint + primer in satin Heirloom White and Coral in the gloss finish. The first step was to head outside and spray paint the entire piece with the white. We let it dry for 48 hours.

Next, we taped off our coral stripe on the top of the table. We used plastic bags to cover up the remaining white sides so that the coral wouldn’t splatter. We let it dry for a couple of hours before removing the painter’s tape.

To create the dipped look of the legs, we used the same process. We measured and marked each leg and taped it up. We used the coral spray paint…and voila! It has an entire new look!

The Finished Look

This new look was easy, affordable, and quick and totally transformed this piece! What piece of furniture do you need to give a new look?
