In my own experience, the Sabbath is a notion I’ve read a lot about in the Bible, but don’t hear mentioned much in today’s modern Christian theology. In a time where productivity and busyness reigns supreme, resting seems counterproductive. Recently, my husband and I were both convicted to study more about the Sabbath. The more we studied, the more we were convicted that this is something that should be apart of a Christian life. Hebrews 4:9-11 tells us, “There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.”
