Thrifty Finds Tuesday: Vintage Theater Seats

I’ve been wanting vintage theater seats for the longest. One of two obstacles always stood in my way: finding one that fit in my budget and/or finding a spot in my house for them to fit. There have been times I’ve found great deals and didn’t have a spot. And there were times where I had the spot, but all the ones I found were outrageously priced.

A few weeks ago, we rearranged some stuff and I had a spot that some theater chairs would work in. I searched Facebook Marketplace and there was nothing near me or in my price range. I was out by myself and I stopped by an antique store. I said a prayer as I entered that I’d find some of the antique chairs and they’d be in my price range. And I knew if I found them, they were supposed to come home with me.

You see, I had never seen these chairs in any local antique stores so I knew if I saw them, it wasn’t just by chance. And as I was leaving, I happened to look over at the last booth on my way out and there were TWO vintage theater chairs. AND they were from an old local school that had been closed down a few years ago and rebuilt. And they were $35 a piece…so much cheaper than any other prices I’d seen.

They ended up not going where I’d originally planned for them to go. That’s the way it works around here! lol But I did find a space in our bedroom and I love that they were already seperated. I placed one on either side of my $35 mantle. I call these chairs my little wink from God.

I love that I own a little bit of local history! What deals have you gotten lately? I’d love to hear about them!

Until next time! From my porch to yours!

XO,

Sharlie
